unable to install

After selecting the empty formatted partition to install Vista on I get a message that the driver M1573 is necessary to enter the hard disk (ULI SATA Controller). I need to insert a cd or diskette with the driver. When I insert the CD with the drivers that came with my Motherboard (ASUS P5RD1-VM) it says it can't find the driver. I have also used the Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor which said that the driver was available and also the rest of my software was compatible. When I look on internet for drivers I cannot find what I am looking for. What can I do to get the beta installed on my computer?

Try putting the drivers in the root of a diskette, cd, or thumb drive. This was necessary in the early beta 1 days but I thought it had changed. Still worth a try.

I put the driver on a new empty cd and during installation I pressed load driver and I was able to select the driver. But after selecting it came with the following message: The [ULI SATA / RAID Cotroller (M1573) (O:\ULISATA.INF)] device driver could not be installed. Make sure the driver files are correct and located on the driver installation media. On the CD I put the following 3 programs: m5287.sys, ulisata.cat and ULISATA.INF. Is there something I am doing wrong or is there a different solution?

Did you put all the files on the root or did you just move folders onto the cd?

The original CD contains several folders with several drivers. I only copied the 3 programs (m5287.sys, ulisata.cat and ULISATA.INF) onto the empty/new CD.

Back in the early days of Beta 1 we were instructed to put all the files on the driver diskette into the root of a new one. I think the problem that caused Vista not to see the drivers has been fixed, but thought I would throw it out here.
